What you need to sync with LinkWare Live
- The tester must have software version 3.0 or later to work with LinkWare Live. To get the latest software, go to flukenetworks.com/support/downloads and select a product.
- To connect to LinkWare Live you need a LinkWare Live ID. To get an ID, go to https://www.LinkWareLive.com/signin, then tap New user? Sign up now! in the lower-left corner of the Sign In screen.
- For Versiv testers (not Versiv 2 testers) you need a Wi-Fi adapter to connect to a wireless network. Fluke Networks recommends these adapters:
- TP-LINK TL-WN725N (Versions 1 & 2) Recommended
- ASUS USB N10 Nano
- NETGEAR WNA1000M
Other adapters may be suitable. For more information on adapters, see the Fluke Networks Knowledge Base.
Versiv 2 testers have an internal Wi-Fi radio, so you do not need a Wi-Fi adapter.
Select an Operator to sign in to LinkWare Live
On the tester's home screen, make sure the Operator name is correct. The tester uses the email address associated with the operator name as the ID when you sign in to LinkWare Live.
If no address is associated with the name, or if you enter a different address on the LWL SIGN IN screen, the tester associates the name with the address you enter.
Sync through a Wi-Fi network
- If you have a Versiv tester (not Versiv 2), connect the Wi-Fi adapter to the USB port on the right side of the tester.
- On the home screen, tap SYNC.
If a notice about additional information shows
Tap OK, then enter the required credentials on the REDIRECTED LOGIN screen and log in. If another REDIRECTED LOGIN shows after you log in, tap DONE on that screen.
If the NETWORK, screen shows
The network settings are not correct. To change the settings:
- Tap the Wi-Fi panel, then change the settings as necessary. If you are not sure what settings to use, speak to the network administrator.
- To test the settings, go back to the WI-FI PORT screen, then tap CONNECT.
- On the home screen, tap SYNC.
- On the LWL SIGN IN screen, enter the ID and password for your LinkWare Live account, then tap SIGN IN.
- If you use other people’s LinkWare Live accounts, the ORGANIZATION screen shows. Tap the organization you want to use.
- On the SYNC PROJECTS screen, select the projects to sync. If there are projects in LinkWare Live that are not on the tester, they show in the section Available only on LinkWare Live.
- Tap SYNC.
If the tester already has a project with the same name but different settings, you can choose to overwrite the settings. If you overwrite the settings, LinkWare Live adds or deletes settings and ID sets to make the project on the tester agree with the project in LinkWare Live.
Notes
- The tester disconnects from the Wi-Fi network when you do a test because an active radio can interfere with the test results. The tester reconnects to the network after the test.
- The testers in some custom kits do not support Wi-Fi (for example, in some kits purchased for government applications). These testers do not show any Wi-Fi settings.
Delete all settings for Wi-Fi networks
Use this procedure to delete all the login credentials and other settings for all the Wi-Fi connections you have made with the tester.
- On the home screen tap TOOLS > Network.
- On the NETWORK screen, tap the Wi-Fi panel.
- On the WI-FI PORT screen, tap FORGET ALL, then tap Yes.
Sync through a wired network
- Connect an RJ45 patch cord from the network to the RJ45 port on the left side of your tester. If the LEDs in the tester's RJ45 jack don’t come on, try a different network jack or a different patch cord.
- On the home screen tap SYNC.
- When the tester connects to the network, the wired network connection icon shows at the top of the screen:
Must I sign in to LinkWare Live again if I turn off the tester?
Yes. The tester does not save your login state.
How to try different network settings
Use the tester's network settings to select a different access point, change security settings, add a wireless network that has a hidden SSID, and enter settings if you need to use a Static IP address. If you are not sure what settings to use, speak to the network administrator.
On the home screen, tap Tools > Network, then tap the Wired or Wi-Fi panel to see the settings.
To try the settings, tap CONNECT on the WI-FI PORT or WIRED PORT screen.
Sign out of LinkWare Live
On the home screen tap TOOLS > Sign In, then tap SIGN OUT.
Or, turn off the tester.
Disconnect from the network
To disconnect from a Wi-Fi network, turn off the tester.
To disconnect from a wired network, unplug the RJ45 cable from the side of the tester.
